Incredibly light reel with solid dragThe Tatula LT is a great reel. It weighs less than most baitcasters and has a very solid drag. The newer version the MQ is a bit heavier.

NiceSweet reel, happy with purchase so far, very light and very smooth, only caught a few on it so far but just got and will say it performs very well, no telling how long she gonna last but we’ll see as it feels very well built

Great reel. Light weightLove these reels have 4. The 4000’s are great. Don’t feel like a tank on the end of your rod. 2000&3000 reduce the weight and increase sensitivity on Ned rig and Senko rods.

Great reel for a great price!Awsome little spinning reel! Typical Diawa quality. Definitely light and tough, I paired it with a Tatula rod to skip docks with. Totally pleased with this purchase.

SmoothI’m the guy that normally hates to pull out the spinning reel, but I bought this on a Tackle Warehouse special and paired it with a Team Lews drop shot rod before heading off to Hartwell. For one of the few times in life, I read carefully the Diawa instructions. I normally use the FG knot with 10# 832 braid to 6# invizx, but this time I spooled it with straight fluorocarbon (after putting on a mono backer). Why, it takes me about 5 minutes to tie the FG knot and that valuable tournament time lost. Wind knots and flouro have always caused me a headache, but after reading the Diawa instructions, pulled out my ancient spooling station and had the line coming off the bottom of the spool (off the top for baitcasters). I set it for pretty good tension and after spooling applied line conditioner. That was the right decision and I experienced zero wind knots, tangles, birds nests! The line took a set to the spool and after catching nearly every spotted bass the 1/8 oz or 1/4 oz drop shot had to be retied. The reel was flawless, sensitive and the drag was perfect. After finally culling up to 12.5# on day 1, I was sold on this reel and rod. If you get the chance, pick one or two up and you’ll not be disappointed!

Powerful 2000!!Needed a new reel and had my eye on a Tatula for a little bit. Tacklewarehouse had everyone beat in price big time! As for the reel, it’s lightweight for using in my kayak and super smooth! I’ve been reeling in 15” spotties easily with this reel!

tough to beatThese spinning reels(tatula lt) are hard to beat for $200. They have no problem handling giant smallmouth from Lake Ontario. The drag is silky smooth and they feel 'right' in the hand. That's why I own 8 of them and 4 are always on the deck. I hope the updated version is even better. When and if these wear out, I'll be looking to purchase the updated version.

Broke at baseI have 4 Tatula spinning reels. They cast and free great. I won't lie, performance is great. I just had one break at the base while fishing a tournament on Lake Erie/Detriot River while reeling in a 4+ Smallie. Contacted Diawa and sent pics. Haven't heard a word. Lews or Shimano would have answered back in a day or so. So not happy about that. Good reel, but I'd chose a different brand.

Best spinning real for the money! This is one of the best spinning reels I‘ve used especially if you want something that is quality, and not breaking the bank. I would highly recommend this Diawa LT Tutula reel.

Light with a good dragLove these reels, they are so light and reasonably priced. Makes such a good match with todays lighter rods. Sad to see it discontinued but grab some while they are available.

Previous Feedback

Comments: Not thrilled with my Tatula LT. Shortly after using it, it developed a knock inside the housing while reeling. Plus--and maybe it's the Seaguar Invisx--but the amount of fluffing, bird nesting I've suffered on a SPINNING reel is insane. I'm going to try the Shimano Vanford.

From: David: North Carolina 9/28/23

Comments: Great little reel, just be aware that it's a 1000 size reel with a deep spool. Drag is typical Daiwa, smooth as silk. Paired it with 6'10" Adrena ultralight and it's perfectly balanced. I'll buy another Tatula without hesitation.

From: Anty: NJ 9/26/23

Comments: Light, strong, beautiful reel. Had this for a few trips now and love it. Can't go wrong with Daiwa. From spinning to casting reels the Tatula line can't disappoint.

From: Jacobb : Riverside CA 9/11/23

Comments: Awesome reel. Super lite. Super performance.

From: Len: Grosse Ile, MI 8/20/23

Comments: I have been using Daiwa reels for many years. The Tatula line of reels are great. I like the 4000 series reels and my recent purchase of the Tatula LT spinning reel is great. Smooth, strong and provides excellent balance. To me, there's less line twist with the bigger reels. Tackle Warehouse is a great place to purchase Daiwa products. Great selection, helpful and great customer service.

From: Douglas: MD - Maryland 8/21/23

Comments: Have 2 -3000 series and 2-2500 series , this is the first 2000 series reel and it balances the rod perfectly. Like the name says lite and tough great reels.

From: Larry: Spring Grove IL. 8/7/23

Comments: Great reel for the price when it's on clearance and you can get additional discounts on top. Drag is smooth and reel is super light. I don't think anything can come close to it at $150!!!

From: Unknown: Lake Minnetonka 8/5/23

Comments: One of the best reel I've owned. Very lightweight. Cast very smooth and has very good drag. It's one of those reel where when you gets one, you tell yourself "man, I'm glad I have one". I would buy more in the near future.

From: Unknown: 7/20/23

Comments: Great reel for the money. Just purchased two of them. Light weight yet strong and smooth drag especially for smallmouth. Very happy with the purchase.

From: Unknown: 7/3/23

Comments: Daiwa Tatula LT spinning reels are great. Well made, durable, smooth, comfortable and fish extremely well. I have been using Daiwa products for many years and have never been disappointed. Great customer support.

From: Douglas: MD - Maryland 7/2/23

Comments: Love this reel. Comparable to the Vanford, but about $50 less. Big plus I was able to find a second LT on sale so now I have a couple of em. They handle wacky rigs fine and I throw a dropshot with mine most of the time. Both of mine are 2500s which have the deep spool, not that most bass fishermen would need it, just something to be aware of.

From: Jeff: Moncks Corner, SC 5/16/23

Comments: Can't beat this reel for the price and the performance. Lightweight, smooth retrieve, casts far and smooth, the drag system is excellent.

From: ScottyB: New City, NY 5/7/23

Comments: These reels are terrible. I feel like the other reviews are either fake, or I just got 2 defective reels. I had 2 reels I had spooled up with fluoro and the other braid and both have TERRIBLE performance. The line constantly wants to spool off of the bottom on both reels. I thought maybe the tackle shop messed up spoiling them up so I had them re-spooled and same thing. There is not even that much line on them so they are not over filled. Sticking with Shimano. Never again.

From: Unknown: 4/23/23

Comments: Fantastic spinning reel for multiple uses. Very light, just the right size, not too big, not too spool. The deep spool and shallow spool options are a bonus as well. For a spinning reel under the $200 price range this thing really performs well and has never disappointed me during my fishing tournaments.

From: Steve: New Hampshire 3/21/23

Comments: The best reels on the market! This is my 3rd(3000, 2500 and 2000) Tatula. Smooth, light, amazing drag and low maintenance.

From: Zach: WV 3/19/23

Comments: I'm an old head and have had plenty of spinning reels in my day. Pulled the trigger on this reel and i'm definitely glad I did. Lightweight and the drag is as smooth as butter. The handle is really thin but strong, I know firsthand because I accidentally stepped on it. Kind of a no-brainer especially if it is on sale.

From: J.D.: LN, North Carolina 3/19/23

Comments: Picked up the 2000 size to use with finesse lures and kayak/wade fishing. Reel is super light and smooth and has proven plenty capable of handling the local smallmouth and trout population.

From: TC: Western NC 3/17/23

Comments: I've had 2 of these reels for 4 years now and just bought another, I never had to regrease, repair or service them. I river fish so it's caught close to a thousand smallmouth and just yesterday I landed 20lb striper with it and I've caught big brown trout with the biggest being 8lbs. No issues whatsoever. This will be the only spinning reel I will buy.

From: Brandon: Tennessee 3/10/23

Comments: Just purchased the 2000 size and right out of the box I'm concerned. For one, the bail arm is plastic. 2-6lb fluoro or mono tend to bounce around and out of the line roller when you're jigging, which over time causes grooves on the bail arm even when it's made of aluminum. It also has a rough spot on rotation right out of the gate. It's not as smooth as my Regal which was less than half the price. I've scoured the internet looking for an extra bail arm because I know I'm going to need one within a year. The only place you can get the part is straight from Daiwa after going through their automated system. I shudder to think what they'll charge you. Bottom line? I never would have bought this if I had held it in my hands first. The weight difference came at a cost not just to my wallet but more importantly to the durability and quality of the reel. I am returning it if at all possible.

From: Jon: TN 3/7/23

Comments: I have been bass fishing for over 58 years, been through a bunch of tackle and lots of rods and reels. Tatula reels are by far the best thing that's come along in my fishing experience bar none. I don't and will not own any other, and you name it, and Iv'e pretty much tried it out. I just love these reels.

From: FC: 1/24/23

Comments: Love the 2500 spinning reel for Dropshotting, Ned rigs, Neko rigs, small swim baits, and any other finesse rig with ML 7'10lb braided and 6lb fluo leaders. It's awesome smooth and the drag definitely worth it!

From: Unknown: Ca NorCal 1/8/23

Comments: I needed a small/light spinner for my Trout rods so I purchased the Tatula LT 1000D-XH. I have to admit that I'm seriously impressed. It's lighter than my Stradic 1000 and my Stella 1000 and fills the gap nicely for my UL and Light rods. The All black look matches my rods also. I'm not a back reeler but having that feature is a definite plus which my Shimano's don't have.

From: Phil: P.A. 12/26/22

Comments: This is a tough and very durable reel. It's light weight and comfortable to handle throughout an outing. I have three, all 2500s, used for lightweight lures and one dedicated to drop shot. Zero issues; highly recommended; priced fairly, and versatile.

From: Trace: SoCal 12/8/22

Comments: This reel is well worth the money. Drag works great and is a very smooth reel. Highly recommend.

From: Charles : Clarksville, Arkansas 9/25/22

Comments: I've only used my reel a few times but I like everything about it, it is light, looks good and I've surprised myself with the distance I've been casting. So far nothing but thumbs up.

From: Rich: Fairfax, VA 8/27/22

Comments: Another great reel from Diawa. Lightweight, smooth and nearly perfect for finesse fishing. Free shipping is always great

From: Brett: Lula, GA 8/25/22

Comments: I've used Daiwa reels for over 20 years and still use some of my older reels to this day, I use this spinning reel for Dropshotting, Ned rigs, Neko rigs, small swim baits, and any other finesse rig I throw. For the price and durability, I feel they're some of the best reels on the market

From: Ken: Lompoc CA 8/4/22

Comments: Another Homerun product from Diawa. I started updating my gear last season with the Regal LT 2000 and I was so impressed at the price point that I updated my baitcaster to a Tatula CT 100h. They both performed flawlessly all season landing hundreds of Small and Largemouth bass. This season I wanted to see what a top tier Diawa spinning reel had to offer so I picked up the Tatula LT 2500XH. So far, I am very impressed with this reel. Very smooth retrieves, very light, a very smooth drag, and an incredibly solid and smooth bail. To boot it is very visually appealing compared to my green and purple regal as well.

From: Daniel: New Hampshire 7/10/22

Comments: I have the 1000's, 2000's and the 2500's. All of them have been great so far!! Durable and not dainty but feels small in hand. I got rid of all my other spinning reels after my first trip with them and bought all new Daiwa Tatulas.spinning reels. No problems so far. Sick reels!!

From: Joe: Nevada 5/20/22

Comments: 3 year follow up review. I have two 3000, and three 2000 Tatula LT reels, and have caught over 1400 fish on these reels. LMB up to 6lbs and SMB up to 4.5lbs, and a few 8-9lb catfish, and all of these reels are as smooth as they were when new. I fish pretty hard in everything from 45 degree weather, through the summer in very hot humid weather, and these reels handle it all without problems. Tatula LT reels and light and smooth casting, and super comfortable to fish with.

From: Unknown: Illinois 5/8/22

Comments: I have been using Daiwa casting reels exclusively for several years because of the quality. I have been running Quantum Smokes for my spinning reels which are good. After using the Daiwa Tatula spinning reel I will be transitioning all my spinning reels to Daiwa because these are superior to the Quantums.

From: Jacob: Wisconsin 4/26/22

Comments: I've been using this reel for about a month now and I have to say, I am very happy with this reels performance. I was taken aback by how the handle is attached but the reel out performs all my other spinning reels. The smooth operation from cast to retrieve is just flawless in my opinion. Not a single issue with reeling in bass and it makes the fight easier and smooth. Some of my other reels tend to struggle a bit during the fight and the retrieval feels less coordinated since I started using my Daiwa Tatula LT. Hands down this is my favorite spinning reel. It even matches my Daiwa Tatula Elite Baitcaster with simplicity and smoother operation than its competitors. My monies worth right here!

From: Michael: Kentucky 4/5/22

Comments: Hi All, I live in the western burbs of Chicago. I fish about 60 miles west of the city. I bought the LT (in January of 2022) for my drop shots and other small light weight rigs. I have used the LT twice (the ice literally Just broke up) and like all Daiwa products the LT did not disappoint. I have caught a number of two and three pound bass using a Tutula spinning rod and the LT reel. The drag is excellent! The casting is exceptionally easy! I am using a 15 high vision braid with a 12 pond floral carbon leader. I believe this setup will produce some great hook-ups in this 2022 season. I recommend the LT for all of your light thermal fishing.

From: Patrick: Illinios 3/20/22

Comments: Antireverse malfunctions unexpectedly. With tight line it inadvertently reverses rotation causing slack line or tangles. I've had this issue with other Daiwa spinning reels over the years.

From: Bill: California 3/10/22

Comments: Absolutely love the Tatula line, they are amazing products. I recently purchased two more of the Tatula LT 3000 series and let say this, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED if you buy one or two of them for yourself. The reels are super lightweight and very smooth. The drag system is unbelievable.  Tatula's are top notch in my opinion.

From: Gene: Warner Robins, GA 2/10/22

Comments: I have 5 of these reels: two-3000, and three 2000 size. I have caught 1000's of fish with them using 10lb and 8lb braid. Lots of hard fighting smallmouth up to 5lbs, and largemouth up to 7lbs, and a couple of 35" pike and muskie (caught while bass fishing) and I haven't had one issue with any of them. I do regular cleaning at the end of every season, but that's it. They cast really smoothly, have great line management, the bail works perfectly, and they are very smooth reeling, and have stayed that way, and have an amazingly smooth drag. I also use a Stradic Ci4+ that's nice, but I prefer these Tatula LT reels.

From: John: Unknown 1/26/22

Comments: This is a great spinning reel. Very very smooth Daiwa got it right with this one use it on my finesse drop shot rod and love it.

From: Donnis: Menifee, CA 1/21/22

Comments: The Tatula LT is a very good reel for the price. Super light and smooth and casts great. I own two 2500's and two 3000's. I use the 3000's for 8 to 14 pound trout and they work great.

From: Unknown: 12/29/21

Daiwa Tatula LT are bad reels. I have to repair it one or twice every year. The anti reverse clutch will not last one year. I only fish about once a week and have 8 combos so it doesn't get that much use. Ive repaired it and sent it to Daiwa but wont last. I'm going to be putting it the 4th set of clutch parts. The gearing is also poor and starting wear out and be rough.

From: Unknown: 11/29/21

Comments: These reals are light weight work horses. I've used them for two years trout fishing and decided to buy the 4000 series for bass. No issues just take them to the stream or lake and have confidence that the reels perform like they should.

From: Larry: Montoursville, PA 10/31/21

Comments: 100% Recommend This Reel! Had it for almost two years and I honestly think it's even smoother than when I first took it out of the box.

From: Clayton: Pittsburgh 8/30/21

Comments: I own 2 of these a 2500 and 3000 one on a ML and one on a Light rod and they are great the lightest reel I've found super smooth great drag no issues what so ever I would say that it's no better or worse than the Hanford and that the vanford is no better or worse than this because I also own a vanford i also use mine for rugged Backcountry small mouth as another review had said and they great

From: Unknown: Ohio 8/2/21

Comments: I'd give this reel a 7/10. I've had it for a little over a month and fished with it several times. The reel works well but the line roller does not fully close when it should. I have to manually close it. It probably just needs some grease but I shouldn't have these issue with a new, and top of the line product.

From: Chris: Ohio 7/28/21

Comments: I own two of these. A 2000 and a 2500. Both used for rugged stream, backcountry smallmouth fishing. These reels are good (tough/lightweight - balance amazingly with high end ~ML rods) but there's something not exactly right with the drag and the anti-reverse failed in the 2500(still waiting on return). If you read down the page you will see several reviews mentioning the drag.  If the weight and toughness overshadows the temperamental drag, my advice is too loosen at the end of every trip and check it periodically through the day.  I also think using carbon drag washers help a little but didn't fix it for me.  It's almost like there's a delayed loosening or tightening as you adjust it on the fly.  The initial pull/break of the drag is also very sticky at times.  This would be the only spinning reel to have (in this price range) if Daiwa improves my concern.

From: SmallieCoach: Tennessee 6/1/21

Comments: I have the 4000 size for throwing senkos, shakeyheads, and other power finesse techniques. The extra size of the reel makes me feel I can control the fish a lot better. Very smooth, light, and have enjoyed using it since day one!

From: Unknown: 5/26/21

Comments: I have two tatulas. I've had them for 2 years and have caught hundreds of river smallmouth, and you know how hard they fight. I've had zero issues and I have yet to grease them in the two years I've had them. They just don't need it. Extremely light weight, if machine spooled you won't get a wind knot ever and are extremely tough. I'll continue to buy Daiwa Tatulas.

From: Brandon: Virginia 5/19/21

Comments: I fell off a boat backwards with the Tatula LT in-hand.  Perfect body jack-knifed entrance into the water. Wish I had it on video. All kidding aside, I understand many of you have experience on the water incidents and we all know it's not a joke. Choose myself as a priority over the LT during that plunge, so no more LT for now. I can tell you, I favored my LT over the Vanford during the time I had the Vanford side-by-side with the LT. Did I feel more "connected" with the LT? I don't know. Maybe it's the all black playing brain foolery. Was it smoother? Not sure, as smoothness is not a primary value for me. It casted above expectations and was light and pretty balanced on the Dobyns DRX 752SF. IMO, over the past 20 years, Shimano has beaten Daiwa in a fair amount of different price brackets on both the bait-casting and spinning reel side. IMO, in the recent past couple years, Daiwa has produced more consistency with both bait-caster and spinning reels. Not huge differences, but if we're talking sub-$100 spinning reels, Daiwa is dominating.....not even a competition as of late.

From: Dan: Illinois 4/15/21

Comments: I purchased the Tatula because the Daiwa HG reel was out of stock.  I generally don't spend this much money on a spinning reel. However, with the Bass University discount + the Huk jersey rebate, it was a fair price. It truly is nice reel. I can speak to the longevity at this point, but thus far I am satisfied with the purchase.

From: RH: Santaquin 3/15/21

Comments: I own 3 of these reels, 2 in the 3000 size and 1 in the 2500 size. For $200, these reels are absolutely the bomb! Buttery smooth, super light, and a drag that'll tame even the hardest fighting smallmouth. These are 100% my #1 favorite spinning reels!

From: Lincoln: Pool 4 Minnesota 3/4/21

Comments: I have been through so many spinning reels over the years; and then found Diawa's Tatula.  I will never buy another spinning reel, as long as Tatula exists.  It is the strongest, lightest and most solid feeling reel I have ever owed.  Bar none. At this price point, buy it.  You won't be disappointed.

From: Mark: 2/12/21

Comments: This reel is light and smooth. Once I'm hooked up the drag leaves no room for error. Thumbs up!

From: Unknown: Scottsdale, AZ 1/28/21

Comments: I own 20 high end Shimano's and for some reason I thought to give this one a try. Other than the drag I really like this reel. I replaced the drag with CF and now it is my favorite reel.

From: Dom: San Diego, CA 1/27/21

Comments: Had this reel (3000D-CXH) for 1 full fishing season (spring, summer, fall & winter). Caught anything from a bluegill to rainbow trout to stripers on this reel. Pros: It's cheaper than a Shimano Ci4 & Vanford. It's light as you can possibly have it. Cons: The drag system has to be played around a lot of times. Sometimes when the drag will be too tight, it won't let out any line for a big fish to pull away. Why is this needed? So, the fish won't spit out the hook. Think about it. If there's strong tension on both end of the fishing line, something has to give (and more than likely, it is the fish that will spit out the hook).

From: Unknown: 1/23/21

Comments: One of the smoothest and lightest reels I have ever handled. And has great line capacity. Something that turned me off of other brands and reels.

From: Angel: Arizona 1/11/21

Comments: Honestly did not know what to expect. After spooling it up and taking it out, I simply flicked my wrist with a ned rig and off she went. It casts amazing and retrieves like butter. I thought the 4000 might be to big but it is not. Glad I listened to a few of the pro anglers and went for it. I am a big baitcaster reel guy and I don't mind picking up the spinning rod now with the reel. Highly recommend.

From: John: Jersey Shore 1/10/21

Comments: The Daiwa Tatula LT is the best spinning reel I've ever owned.  The gearing of this reel is unbelievably smooth and the drag is so precise it eliminates any need to back reel big fish.  I purchased the 4000 size and can hardly believe how light it is.  This larger size also has more drag surface and allows me to cast an astonishing distance with light weight lures.

From: John: Minnesota 1/9/21

Comments: I am very impressed with this reel. It is one of the lightest reels on the market for all day drop-shotting. Very comfortable in the hand and a smooth drag system.

From:
Gerry 12/29/20

Comments:
I converted my spinning gear to Daiwa Tatula combos. Not impressed with the reels. The good:stylish, very light, very smooth. The bad:Handle is small and lacks leverage.Drag wont loosen adequately to give line to a surging fish.5th reel purchased intermittently has a failure with the anti-reverse feature.

From: Monte: Nebraska 12/23/20

Comments: Daiwa Tatula LT 300 this reel is light weight. allows you to use a bigger reel . This reel is one of the smoothest reels on the market. With one of the best drag systems. You will not be disappointed.

From: Danny 12/813/20

Comments:Best spinning reel EVER. Light as a feather, but strong and well built. Anyone who uses a spinning reel for anything would benefit by owning this reel. And if you like to dropshot, pair this reel with a Tatula spinning rod (6'10") and you will have the lightest and most amazingly sensitive dropshot rig out there!

From: Craig: Cedar Rapids, IA 12/11/20

Comments:This reel is amazing will be replacing all my others with tatulas

From: Josh - California 10/24/20

Comments:I picked up this reel months ago in 2500 - paired it up with a tatula spinning rod - mainly for spy baits - it took me a few months before I actualy used this reel and now I'm kinda kicking myself for not enjoying it earlier . I love this little monster - so light in hand yet at same time has that high quality compact feel to it - everything is just very tight - well machined . Very smooth - very quiet .. a joy to fish with ... all black spinning reels are also hard to find - with quality components anyways - so this black beauty matches up with any rod you pair. Late to the party on this one & sooooo glad I bought it .. I'm picky and this one definitely makes my cut, won't be resold - highly recommend

From: Dean: Las Vegas 10/6/20

Comments:This is my favorite reel. It's so light and paired with the tatula elite rod, it's hard to beat. I prefer it to my Stradic, Revos, and Lew's reels. Best reel for under 200 IMO.

Comments: Fantastic spinning reel. By far the best spinning reel in the price range. Light & smooth. The drag is amazing and handles 4-5lb smallmouth on 6lb test no problem. Love that I can engage the anti-reverse and back reel if necessary. I've caught bass, walleye, hybrid, crappie & white bass and the reel handles them perfectly. Paired with a Tatula rod this is a perfect combo.

Comments:If your not afaird to blow your load BUY this reel. Ultra light, smooth, trolling , cranking, pitching, flipping , jig it does it all. Drag can hold a horse and cranks like a dream! Ci4 isn't close !! 5out5*s !!!

Comments:Very nice reel to use but (light and smooth) but I don't think the drag is that great. I am an Abu guy but I got 2 x 2500 size for smallmouth up north. The spool is a bit too deep also. A bit disappointed, I thought they had the best drags in the business.

Comments:Just replaced my drop shot/Ned rig rod with this reel (2500) and I'm blown away by it. It's so light and smooth and the drag is just incredibly smooth. Chose this over the CI4+ after handling both in person. Buy it you won't be disappointed.

Comments:Super Amazing Reel. I replaced my Stradic Ci4 for this. Way Smoother and Lighter. Drag is super smooth and sleek. Only Con is it's not Saltwater, other than that it's much better than the Stradic with a more affordable price.

Comments:I LOVE this spinning reel. I own 3 of them in the 4000-CXH size. The only thing that I would change is the handle. It is hard plastic and I would prefer a rubber one for better gripping. I would still give this reel my highest recommendation. I fill my 4000s with 8-pound test mono. It looks like the spool, which is very shallow, would hold around 160 yards of 8-pound mono. I use these reels for my finesse-worm fishing, soft-plastic jerk baits and smaller crankbaits. I never have line twist because of the longer spool. But if you want a spinning reel for heavier line, you might check some of the other Daiwa models that have deeper spools.

Comments:This reel is amazing. I recently bought the 2500 size Tatula LT and have been beyond satisfied. The retrieve is buttery smooth and the bail is super silent. I paired this reel with a Daiwa Tatula spinning rod and the combo is very light, sensitive and strong. You can feel the quality in this reel and must get a rod to match the level of performance. Daiwa has superb craftsmanship. Their bearings are smooth as cream and their Zaion material is light yet strong. Go grab yourself one and thank yourself later. This reel is my new dropshot set up and I will be buying more.

Comments:This reel is awesome! So smooth and weightless that it has become my favorite reel when I need a spinning setup.I bought the 2500 and paired it with a tatula 6'10" and absolutely love it.The balance is unreal... I want a 3000 size next because these this are so fun to fish with.Dollar for dollar, this is the best reel in my opinion.

Comments:I have the TALT3000-CXH which is the shallow spool version of the 3000 size reel. It's so light, smooth, and strong, with a compact body size that fits and feels great on all of my rods. The best set up though is on a matching medium Tatula 6'6" rod. This combo is the lightest, most well balanced combo I have ever felt. It's almost weightless feeling when fishing. I use it with PP 15lb braid and it's performed without any issues at all. It has is smooth casting, and has a smooth easy starting drag.I really love the wider spool, line management is perfect. It has the same capacity as the Tatula 2000 LT which has a smaller but deeper spool. I fish for bass and pike primarily, so I don't need a ton of line capacity. It saves money when spooling up new line.

Comments:I have the 1000 I fish lake st Clair on a regular basis love the drag caught my personal best 6.5 pounder this summer with no issue at all. Would buy 10 more if I could afford them

Comments:This reel is good for the money IMO. I have the 2000 size (same as the 1000 size as well shimano 1000 size reels) which I believe to be the perfect size for my use, unless you really need long cast then go with a 2500-3000 size reels. It does well with weight weighing around 6 ounces with line and add a rod like the one I paired it up with (Shimano zodias 7ft M)... It should come under 10 ounces making very lightweight and very sensitive I find. The drag I find to be metallic, which I like. There is virtually no play in the handle, but in the handle knob there is a bit...not to bad tho. Should you spend the extra money to go with the ballstic lt or shimano stradic ci4+ it's your personal option at that point. Although the stratic and the ballastic are a little bit smoother it's not the biggest upgrade that would be worth paying extra for I believe. Overall it is a great reel and worth the price.

Comments:Have many spinning reels for all my light line work. Not impressed with the Drag on the LT as much as wanted to like it just not good enough ... IMO

From: J.D:Wayne N.J 1/27/19

Comments:Have not used any Daiwa products for over 20 years.Purchased the Tatutla LT and Fuego LT spinning reels in 3000 size for LM bass fishing. Both are very nice reels. The Fuego feels stronger, smoother, with a better drag system than the Tatula.

Comments:I picked up the 1000d-xh for drop shot, and other finesse techniques. I am a shimano guy, but wanted to try something different. I have to say I'm impressed with Daiwa. This reel is just as light as the stradic ci4, it has better drag, and more line capacity than stradic ci4/fk. This reel is very smooth, but not as smooth as the stradics. Overall, I am very satisfied with the tatula lt. It is a great buy, if you're willing to sacrifice a little smoothness for a beefier drag system, and more line capacity. Good luck, and tight lines.

Comments:The reel is nice. Not quite sure why everyone is saying but I wouldn't put this quite up against the stradic although very close. Thing that bothers me the most is the noise when it casts. The spool is made of a material that makes noise. Sounds cool but has pretty high friction making the cast noisy and not as far. As for the reel itself, it's smooth lighter than stradic and drag is nice and it's a durable reel. Over all good reel, maybe not as favorable to use as my stradic but very good.

From: Rick:MN9/5/18

Comments:I have always had shimmano spinning reels up until recently. The tatula spinning reel is as light and strong as a stradic but cheaper. As well, I like to backwind fish instead of relying on drag. I guess shimmano thinks that the drag on their high end reels is too good for them to bother with a reverse switch because they no longer have them. The tatula is as high quality reel and the best I've found in the price range. I plan on getting more of these reels for the remainder of my spinning outfits

From: Unknown 7/3/18

Comments:Fantastic reel. Super smooth bail action when opening and closing. Great casting and line management. I've been using the 2000 size with 6lb mono and catching lots of 2-4lb bass, and the drag has been outstanding. I love the smoothness when reeling in fish. It has a solid feel for such a light reel, and it is very light. I like the all black Darth Vader look too. On par with my Stradics for less money. Recommended

Comments:Excellent reel, feels just right in every way for me. I have a size2000 Tatula LT for finesse fishing and stream fishing. Every aspect works really well. Bail, shape of the body, size, finish, casting, gears/feel are all exceptional, and the drag is fantastic. I've caught some 4 pound bass and lots of angry pike and I haven't felt any flex at all. These reels are so light and well balanced they seat perfectly to my rods and are really fun to fish with. The retrieve this reel has is excellent and smooth but very connected feeling. Well worth the money.

From: Monty6/5/18

Comments:Very nice reel. I wanted to get one of them to compare to my Shimano CI4+. I'm very happy with both brands and couldn't tell the difference from one to the other. They both cast great and both have a great drag system. Tatula LT is a little lighter and cost 40.00 less so I guess that gives Daiwa a little edge over the Shimano. The quality on both the Shimano and Daiwa are amazing. Based on cost and weight I decided to get a 2nd LT in the Sterling Silver limited edition.

Comments: These reals are light weight work horses. I've used them for two years trout fishing and decided to buy the 4000 series for bass. No issues just take them to to stream or lake and have confidence that the reels perform like they should.

Comments:purchased this reel about a two months ago. I use the 2500 size reel for steelhead fishing our local costal rivers, average fish is around 8-10 lbs. This reel has been very disapointing to say the least. the bail spring gave out so i have to flip the bail manualy every single time . The drag is no where as smooth as my older DAIWA SS2 reels and the TD ADVANTAGE reels i own. The drag is ok at best! Back to daiwa it will go! I have owned several daiwa spinning models over the years and i dont understand how they could make a reel 13 years ago better and cheaper ?

From: james: oregon 3/8/18

Comments:Soo I'm sold on Daiwa after purchasing this spinning reel. I currently own one in 2500 size and its absolutely perfect for drop shot, small swimbaits on 3/16 jig heads, shakey heads & senko rigs. Its such a smooth reel and incredible effortless retrieve I have it paired with a dobyns champion extreme hp spinning rod. I currently also have a stradic Ci14+ and it doesn't compare to the quality of this daiwa reel.... I think shimano is charging more for there name then what you are buying after feeling this reel. Next ill be purchasing a tatula bait caster because my chronarch feels so cheap in hand compared to the daiwa products.

From: Thomas: Chandler, AZ 3/3/18

Comments: I had to place an order for myself after attending a trade show which ended today. This reel blew my mind! I wasnt planning or even really kept up with ICAST this year like normally. Anyways, its so smooth I cannot emphasize enough! As if taking a new high end baitcaster on ABEC 7s without noise to elaborate. I held a few sizes of both the Tatula and the Ballistic reels. Over all, with same results going through the different sizes the Tatula felt much better. Smoother and more rigid (I would assume a result of the gear differences.) So far, ive got a very good impression of the Tatula. Looks promising to outlast and out perform its competitors. Of course time will tell but that comes later.
