Overview

As effective as it is versatile, the VMC Tokyo Rig pairs with an almost endless range of soft plastics and allows anglers to explore just as many types of terrain. Built around a solid, one-piece ring, the VMC Tokyo Rig features a heavy-duty wide gap hook with a 3-degree offset, which ensures solid hook penetration.

Along the bottom, the VMC Tokyo Rig features a wire form that is attached with a premium rolling swivel.  This non-terminated wire form allows anglers to simply apply the desired weight and bend the wire upwards to lock it in place. So whether you’re slipping it in and out of shallow grass, or methodically dragging it along deep ledges, the VMC Tokyo Rig offers easy customization, and a unique design that will undoubtedly fool discerning predators.

Please note: bait and weight not included.

Comments: Last summer was my first year with the Tokyo rig and I've been pleased with the results .  I like to combine this with the Red One Systems Tungsten punching weight, with the diamond shaped weight attached it gets through heavy grass like a hot knife through butter.

Comments: I love the Tokyo rig! VMC makes a great setup here! The wire WILL bend. That's a good thing. If the fish suck in the entire thing, bait, wire and weight and can't close it's mouth completely because the wire is extremely stiff, it'll spit the bait back out. If it gets bent, grab your pliers and straighten it out, it's that simple. I'm curious how people are losing their weights though. I have never lost weights and I've had these things hung up, ripped through rock, pull through trees and structure, and multiple fish caught on the same rig. If you're thinking about it and here reading reviews first, do yourself a favor, just grab a pack!

Comments: When I first saw the Tokyo rig I thought it looked like a POS contraption. Gave it a try and am pleasantly surprised. It comes through cover extremely well. I am sill fishing the same rig after 3 trips of flipping rocks and trees jacking numerous fish. They get the hook right in the roof of the mouth too. Also, keeps the bait out of the snot moss. I am sold.

Comments: Definitely catches fish! Hook up ratio is great but I find the wire that holds the weights is very weak. It gets bent up very easy and I had a bass break it off while fighting. Losing 2 tungsten weights at once can get pricy.

Comments: Got my order and rigged up the new VMC tokyo rig with a Huddle Bug.2nd cast get a 4lber and after unhooking the fish i see there isn't a weight on the lure anymore...so one fish in, granted it was nice, the lure is useless. I now just have an expensive EWG with some cheap hardware on the eye. I did get 3 packs so i hope it was just a fluke. May have to try Venoms version now.

Comments: Great hooks, very sharp and practically tangle free. However, my hook got bent on a 4.96# largemouth. The hook didnt bend out but it is deformed and at an odd angle. Still sharp though so I guess you can catch a lot of small fish on it with no problem

Comments: Very good rig, here's a little tip for ya, instead of bending the stem around the tungsten, just curve the stem at the bottom about an eighth of an inch and pinch it tight so the weight sits on top. Way more weed less after that.

Comments: This rig is flat out awesome. I've been skunked more times than I care to admit at the three ponds closest to my home. These rigs arrived mid-week...and I just got back from those same three ponds. What a difference! 17 LM bass in just under two hours! I figured I would post a review while I was on the site ordering more of them. DEFINITELY a game changer!

Comments: This is the new biggest thing in bass fishing. This thing is the new texas rig. The hook is strong, the wire is strong, and the presentation is flawless. Tried it out for the first time, caught a 4.62, a 6.79, and a 8.78. And other one varying from 2 pounds to 5 and a half. Freaking toads. Use 17 to 20 pound test fluoro. I like to add a bead or clicker in dirty water. Set the hook hard, cross their eyes. I guarantee, you put a creature bait (Grande Bass for me), or a Lizard... you will run into one.

Comments: I used this rig for the first time last weekend and it work awesome.  I was the only one in the tournament that weighed in a fish and I had 5.  I couldn't believe how well it comes through brush.  I threw it in brush all day and never lost a rig.  I think my favorite way was letting the current take it down the bank.  I kept enough tension on the line that I could feel it bouncing along the bottom and when it stopped, I would drag it a little to get it started again.  Water temps were around 55 and dirty.

Comments: Great solid hook. the wire for the weight is pretty beefy, but come on VMC, 4 bucks for a 2 pack and you use the cheapest swivel you can find. Highly suggest swapping them out before using them.
