Overview

Introducing a new level of light and tough performance to the workhorse Tatula series, the Daiwa Tatula MQ LT Spinning Reel leverages Daiwa’s industry-leading technologies to provide anglers with a superior compact spinning reel at an affordable price point. Built around a one-piece Monocoque Zaion V-Body housing a large DigiGear, the Tatula MQ LT Spinning Reels feature a highly rigid design that greatly reduces flex, increases strength, and delivers more cranking power than comparable spinning reels in the same size.

A machined-tough DigiGear ensures gear precision and rotational smoothness, while the updated Air Rotor and Air Bail provides the ultimate sensitivity, balanced retrieves, and maximum strength with minimal weight. Complete with a machined aluminum screw-in handle and a soft-touch rubberized grip, the Daiwa Tatula MQ LT Spinning Reel instantly adds drag resistance when you set the hook with a smooth starting, ball-bearing supported, automatic tournament drag system.

Features:

- One-Piece Monocoque Zaion V-Body
- AirDrive Rotor & Bail
- Machined-Tough DigiGear
- Machined Aluminum Screw in Handle
- Ball Bearing Supported Automatic Tournament Drag (ATD)

Comments: I've always been a Shimano go to for years, and always will be, but was looking for a 2000 light reel for jigging and Shimano just does not have it in this price range with a larger high gear for more torque. I was using a 2500 Ultegra but it's just too heavy for long days of jigging. Tried to use a Stradic 1000 and it works but feels underpowered and with 6lb it's not ideal. Been using the Tatula 2000 model for inshore jigging with 6lb line and I can't fault it jigging for 5-6 hours non stop being so light. The only gripe is the handle has a tiny bit of play but nothing a shim can't resolve. I changed the handle to a black Titanium Gomexus with ceramic bearings and now it's perfect. I am critical of my reels and I have many including the 22 Stradic and Stella as well as other lower model Diawa's. This is an extraordinary reel in how it feels. The shaft feels that it's spinning on air when turning the handle, something my other reels don't feel like. It's really an amazing feeling. The reel never has failed once in operation and is very light. Line management is excellent but need to add a washer to get the line lay to not taper on the top from how it came originally.

Comments: I've been using the tatula MQ for a few weeks now and really like it. I was on the fence, as I usually fish the ci4+ or vanfords as my nicer reels, but I pulled the trigger and got one with a gift card. So far I love it and have actually used it more than the others. I think the drag is as good as the shimanos, line management is good, no problems at all so far. The handle knob itself has a tiny bit of play but I don't notice it. The drag dial is slower to change than the vanford or stradic, meaning it takes more clicks to tighten it down. So far I really like it, will report back later after having more time with it

Comments: I'm not getting Daiwa's strategy with three nearly identical reels that are priced so closely together. I own the Ballistic MQ LT. it is this exact same reel with two corrosion resistant bearings and "magseal" lubricant. It's a great real at $229 instead of $199. It also features the larger diameter bail wire, which I prefer. For $179, you can get the Procyon MQ LT which is identical except for two less bearings and it also having the thicker bail wire found in the Ballistic. Redundancy aside, this really is a good series of reels. The Ballistic handles line very well and has a smooth drag. That's what is most important in a spinning reel.

Comments: Been a Daiwa guy for years been looking forward to the new tatula. I decided to pull the trigger on it and while it's new in box, it seems super smooth but the one thing I do not like / on the fence about is the bail, I think it's the thinnest bail I have seen! Makes me nervous in case there's an oops in the boat. Time will tell but I wish they would have left the thicker bail on it like their other reels. I'll try n post an update in the coming months because I fish a lot Other than that it's beautiful, smooth out of the box and I'm excited about the dat drag system.

Comments: I purchased The Daiwa Tatula MQ LT 2500 DX. I also purchased a Daiwa Tatula Elite Spinning Rod as well. I received the reel one day earlier than the rod. Both arrived on time, in perfect condition. The reel is smooth, and it is constructed extremely well. The rod is 7'3" med light , and is very sensitive. Allows one to feel every grass blade, and the slightest of hits. Rod and reel look very sleek together. I am totally satisfied with my Tackle Direct purchase and I look forward to many more purchases with them!
