Comments: Purchased the Daiwa Lexa HD 300 w/ the Daiwa DX 8ft rod for throwing larger swimbaits and the A-rig. Works great!!! Very strong reel. Very happy with it.

Comments: I've owned this reel since this blue model replaced the old silver Lexa. It's on my extra heavy set up for Swimbaits and glided 8oz and up. Reel has been flawless. Holds plenty of 20# and up mono. For the people complaining about the reel engaging mid cast, that's because of the weight of the single power handle. Replace that unless you're fishing vertical. I ordered a TD zillion handle and put it on mine before I ever made a cast because I was aware of heavy, single ball power handles engaging this size reel. That fixes the problem. And I've never had any reason for a single power handle fishing for bass. The heavy drag is great for big bass hooked up on big, heavy baits. The reel has no slop. It has a firm click when engaged. This reel is superior to the old silver models. Just add a TD zillion handle ( I prefer this handle. Other Diawa models will work also ) and it's an excellent Swimbait reel.
