Comments: Why does everyone always use "price point" in reviews.? I guess it sounds sophisticated.? Anyway. Lew's custom lite is a pretty good little reel. Smooth, light, fits in the hand well. One thing I noticed very quick was FLEXING. I caught a couple 5lb bass and noticed the flexing right away since it's the only reel I have felt do that.? But all in all it's a very good reel. I have Not experienced level wind issues (line stacking on one side) like in some of the other reviews. I'm using seaguar invizx 15lb and my spool is completely level like it should be. No excessive gear noise, when I take the reel out of the box I take the reel apart and oil it like the instructions say. These are really good reels and I would recommend buying one. Lews makes quality gear.

Comments: I got this reel new locally for use on a jerkbait rod in late October. At first it was great, casts a mile with ease, felt good in the hand and retrieved smoothly. Well less than a full season later the reel has become quite "geary" during the retrieve. I expected far more from a reel of this price point.

From: Tim: 4/3/22

Comments: Picked one up to pair with my Shimano expride 6'10" medium for throwing jerkbaits. The reason I picked this reel is for the light weight, and smaller spool. The reel is very easy to dial in, and absolutely bombs jerkbaits out far. The retrieve is very smooth, and the drag is great. No complaints with this one. I picked up a second one to go on my topwater setup. Very happy with them!

From: Don: Grand Rapids, MI 11/4/21

Comments: If you're looking for a super light, really smooth reel then this is it.  I have this reel paired with a St Croix Inshore med-light rod, which is pretty light; wanted a very light reel to go along with it. The combo is a perfect match and I really enjoy casting light lures with it. Super smooth retrieve; distance is easy to dial in. Ergonomics are nice; just a touch smaller framer than normal, handle and grips are perfect. very happy with this reel on my lightweight setup. If you're in the market for something really light and a touch smaller, definitely give this one a try.

From: Jason: Indiana 8/11/21

Comments: nice reel, small and light weight. only thing i notice is after a few fishing trips the reel starts to get clunky. I don't get that with my shimano reels but overall its a great reel.

From: Meng: Fresno, CA 7/27/21

Comments: Super lite, smooth good looking reel.   Super low profile reel, fits hand nicely..  Cast lite lures a long way  no backslash  ever. Strong drag, 17 lbs.   Better reel than my $420   Shimano Aldeberan . Going to try the hypermag next.

From: Tony: Southern California 5/12/21

Comments: Nice reel, light and smooth retrieval, but sadly have to agree with other reviewers on the line bunching up to one side of the spool

From: Unknown: 5/7/21

Comments: Lightest reel you can get while also having enough drag to horse in the big ones. I use this on my all-around combo and have been tossing 1/2oz chatterbaits to 1/4oz shakeyheads on it. Great reel.

From: SOCObassin: Santa Rosa, CA 12/1/20

Comments: This reel is awesome all around. Except one this that irritates is the spools up on one side of spool. This my first Lews reel so I don't know this a norm for these reels. I've just never experience that with other reels. So I'll cast my line out and reel in line and the line builds up on side of the spool. I can't figure out why. Anyways that's my only issue with this reel.

From: Sam: Glendale 6/28/20

Comments: I really like the way this reel feels. But I have one issue with it. I don't know if just the Lews reels I buy. But line doesn't line up evenly on the spool when reeling in your line. The line gets all brunch up on one side of the spool. That's my only issue because it annoys me specially for a $280 reel.

From: James: New Mexico 5/23/20

Comments: Coolest reel I own!! Amazing reel makes weight less senkos flukes etc. More fun to fish if that's a thing. Cast light weight baits a mile! I got nothing bad to say. The Curado DC doesn't even compare in my opinion.

From: Ryan: Minnesota  5/16/20

Comments: Ridiculously light and super smooth, casts a mile and specifically used just for throwing spinner baits on a 6'10" lews MH spinnerbait rod.

From: Chris: Hershey, PA 5/8/20

Comments: Reel is crazy light and disappears in the hand. Have only had it out a few times but it has become one of my favorite lew's models.  Spool is shallow so it's better suited to light line applications or flipping/pitching.

From: Joey: South Bend, IN 4/27/20

Comments: I got this reel for Christmas and I have abused this thing like crazy.I am mostly a bank fisherman so I wanted something that could do every thing and be ultra light and man is this combo what I was looking for. I have beat it off trees (on accident of course), railing, and anything you name and this combo just keeps goin . I have it paired up with a Favorite Summit 7'2" Med-Hvy and can I just say it's the lightest combo I've held, I think it's just over 6 ounces, I use it to do everything but mostly finesse jigs cause that's what I am confident with all year round. I can throw a 1/8 ounce finesse bait at least 30 yards with no backlash, it's crazy how well it throw light baits and heavy baits up to 1/2 ounce, I wouldn't go over that on this rod. I hope   This helped anyone looking at this reel and maybe even the rod. Thanks, JCB Fishing. Remember to F.E.D. (Fish. Every. Day.)

From: Jakota: Pomeroy, Ohio 4/22/20

Comments: All I can say is wow. Its nice to be able to buy a light weight reel that will last for under $400.

From: Jessie: Clarksville, TN 1/21/20

Comments: Insanely light and smooth. Feels incredibly solid, the weight is definitely NOT a compromise. My new favorite reel by a long shot. Awesome compact feel in my palm. Paired with an IROD Air 703c and spooled with 15lb Tatsu, the setup only weighs 9.9oz total. Definitely keep it strapped down to your boat deck, or else it might float off into outer space.

From: Tucker: Richmond, VA 12/30/19

Comments: This immediately became my new favorite reel. It's lighter than my Hypermag and is just as smooth if not smoother. Even when cranking in bigger spinnerbaits it feels effortless. I would highly recommended it to anyone.
