Favorite small spinnerbait! The rocket shad is one of my go to baits. I fish it in rivers, ponds, and lakes. It is compact and casts a mile. The profile of the head allows you to retrieve the bait much faster (if desired) than most spinnerbaits without it rolling over. The blade spins very easily on the drop, making this a very versatile bait. I've had several nice smallmouth hit whit pausing my retrieve near downed trees and other structure.
I'm not sure why the other fellow had trouble hooking fish, but as with most spinnerbaits, I found the fish mostly hook themselves. I still give it a quick tensioning just after contact, of course. The one slight downside is the double hook can snag vegetation slightly more often than a single hook spinnerbait.

PLEASE DONT BUYI saw all of the other reviews on this bait and said to myself, “Eh must have been a bad batch,” I WAS WRONG. The hooks are absolutely TERRIBLE, the skirt is fine and it works fine and overall has a great action, BUT YOU CANNOT LAND ANY FISH WITH THIS LURE, i watched 4 DIFFERENT FISH come up and grab this and then get hook for a second, and come off, these fish werent small either, A striper at least 15-20 inches come up and grab it and it never even got hooked.

Comments: The skirt was trash. I only caught 1 fish and it was because it got caught on a shard of metal that was sticking out. Overall 5 stars for luck and -1 stars for construction.

Comments: Terrible. Skirt fell off after 5 minutes of fishing.

Comments: Needs to be made better, where the rubber ring holes the skirt in place will come off making skirt to fall off. I have 15 to 20 of them that have no skirts. Strike King Rocket Shad is what I fish with the most, from 1/8 oz to 1/2 oz in all the colors. The 1/8 oz or smaller will catch berm and some bigger bass. I have tried fix them with no luck.I use a lot of what Strike King makes.

Comments: I use this in the Erie Canal and local ponds here in western NY and the smallies and largies love it! The arm does bend kinda easy, but that is only a minor complaint. Very good overall.

Comments: A buddy actually turned me on to these. I mainly fish rivers and had always used 3/8oz spinners, but I also fish some smaller streams so I never used my spinners because I felt they were just to much for smaller streams in the Ozarks. Then he brought me one of these one day and I took it out the weekend and absolutely tore it up with these. Now, I've only been fishing it for about 3 weeks now, but what I really like is the fast you're not just limited to small fish. I've caught a 16" Smallie & a 20" Rainbow in the same day on one of these in White. So since then, I bought a couple of them in White, Chartreuse & Perch. The White kills it in clearer water, but what I've noticed so far is that the Perch colored is the one really tearing it up in the more stained water and it is a magnet for Goggle Eye/Rock Bass. I don't typically go out saying boy I really want to catch some Goggle Eye today, so that can become a little annoying, but still fun nonetheless. Especially if you want to take you kids of any age out.

Comments: I use this when all else fails during cold front conditions & blue bird skies. Throw this out large grass flats & use it as a drop bait. I replace the blades with smaller willow leaf blades.

Comments: Unique spinner bait because of the small size, even the 3/8 and 1/2 oz are only about 2.5 inches long. Gets down to the bottom fast and can be cast pretty far. The skirt is attached permanently so it never slips down. I've caught plenty of big river smallmouth using these.

Comments: This little lure (1/4 Oz.) is awesome in small streams for smallies and Largemouth bass. I mainly use the perch color to imitate bluegill and sunfish and also use the chartreuse color with good results.

Comments: One day I was fishing a pond and the bite was horrible. The only bass caught that day was on this lure in the perch color. I highly recommend this spinner.

Comments: Very happy with this one! Got the 3/8 oz. shad. Big mouth seem to really like it. My only complaint is, one of the eyes came off after the second cast. Fish don't seem to mind though. Will buy more.

Comments: Best spinner bait in the world for smallies. I use these spinner baits all the time at the St. Lawerence River in NY and I'll tell you if there are small mouth anywhere in the area your fishing hold on tight because they love this lure. I caught a 23 lb bag in a tournament with these lure and i recommend them to anyone fishing on a small mouth tributary.

Comments: I was using this for the first Tim in New York not really expecting much but within 10 casts I gat a monster rock bass 13 inches a pound and a half which is huge for a rock bass. Also caught several smallies before I lost it to a tree.
