Overview

Delivering a new level of smoothness, the Sufix 131 G-Core Braided Line is built with 13 fibers (12HMPE Fibers + 1 GORE Performance Fiber in the core) to guarantee consistently strong construction with no weak points for reliable performance during casting, strikes, and fighting action. The high strand count of Sufix 131 G-Core Braided Line increases the number of fibers at the knot, which results in better knot tying and stronger holding power so that you land more fish. The single strand of GORE Performance Fiber in the core also helps create a super round line that is smoother and quieter than any other braided line on the market. The increased smoothness decreases the amount of resistance when going through the guides to produce longer casting distances as well. Available in a wide range of sizes and a low-vis green color that is hard for fish to detect, the Sufix 131 G-Core Braided Line raises the bar in terms of quality and performance of braided lines.

TRUST IT!Maybe a little pricey, but it lasts! The color will fade as do all braids (keep a dark green or black sharpie handy) I’ve had the 50 on my punch and frog rods for 2 seasons and never had a problem.

It’s braided perfectionI’ve experienced so much plummeting of quality in the products of the parent Rapala VMC Corporation that I was hesitant to try Sufix products. I’ve been waiting for quite awhile for a woven line around a monofilament core, so I held my nose and ponied up. I’m glad I did as it’s the best handling and most durable braid I’ve ever used. It’s lower test than other braids per diameter, but I think that’s almost an irrelevant point unless you really like to lock your drag down.

Silky Smooth Braided LineI have thoroughly enjoyed the Sufix 131 G-Core Braided Line. I purchased a spool of the 30LB and it has performed above expectations. It is super smooth and casts like a dream. I have been using it with a fluorocarbon leader and I am able to cast some 1/4 and 3/8 ounce lures extremely far. I would highly recommend the line to others interested and I have no affiliation to Suffix.

It's worth the priceVery smooth & long casting. The rated strength is good. I noticed much less dig in on the spool. I have used 10lb on spinning tackle & 40 & 50lb on bait casters. I have not noticed any bleeding of color or fade.

Best Braid PeriodYou cannot know without trying how amazing this braid is. I put it on all my reels and it lasts twice as long because I backlash less the line does not fray at all. Almost ever. I've never had a problem with knots slipping or leaders breaking (other than my own stupid mistakes). Let alone that for me it casts noticeably farther than say 832 or smackdown or j-braid on the same setups. I use every size up to 50 lbs for all of my rigs and use maxquattro for any gear that requires more. Happy camper. Happier angler. Treat yourself.

Great braid !Was looking for a casting braid & when I saw this had 13 strands I decided to try it. Doesn’t “bite in” like I expected either with its tiny diameter!

Comments: This is my new favorite braided line by a long shot. I generally use Suffix 832 and power pro but like other reviewers stated I am pretty confident the Bass can hear the braid going through the vegetation even when I use a Flouro leader. The 131 is the roundest braid on the market and the quietest. I use the 65lb for my Swimbaits with a flouro leader and straight 65lb for punching and I've never broken off a single fish. I use the 50lb for fishing frogs and caught an 8.9lb and a 7.5 lber back to back without retying and jerked them out of some heavy cover on Okeechobee. It casts like a rocket extremely manageable and quiet, with great knot strength and I haven't noticed any fading of the color. I don't see myself changing from 131 anytime soon. If you like 832 but want a rounder, quieter and more manageable braid you will love this braid it's worth the extra money.

Comments: I use this braid because it sinks. It's amazing stuff, really abrasion resistant. It's a little noisy, but worth it. It's expensive, so I back my reels with mono, then FG knot (double uni if I'm on the water). I use 60 for punching rod, 40 for frog rod, 30 for jig rod.

From: Unkown: California Delta 7/6/23

Comments: I purchased the 10lb braid for a spinning reel. Very smooth & round line. Casts well & holds both back to back uni & palomar knots very well. Packs smoothly on the spool with no indication of dig in. Expensive but a good value.

Comments: Good stuff , very quiet..color retention is good.. a bit pricy.. but worth the $$.

From: Sam: 2/23/23

Comments: Sufix, in my opinion is the clear leader in bass fishing line. I use several of their monofilament lines and their braid is simply the best. Tackle Warehouse is my "go to" people when it comes to my tackle needs. Good selections and good service.

Comments: Great line, very long casts and much less backlashes.

From: Shawn: Texas 10/28/22

Comments: Casts smoothly, but I wish they made a Hi-vis color.

From: Brad: Sammamish, WA 10/8/22

Comments: A year ago I tied this line on in 30lbs and posted a review. I fished alot of techniques the past year with most fish caught on medium depth and lipless crank baits. When rigged up with the right rod and reel and using leaders, this line is very versatile. I've purchased the 40lbs line for my heavier rod and reel setups to try out for the next year.

Comments: I always used to use suffix 832 and swear by it until suffix came out with the 131. This braid has been very good to me, it's very round comes through the guides exceptionally well, and is pretty quite. If you can get over the price of this braid I would think you'd be pleasantly surprised... Tie some on!!

From: Matt: Niagara Falls, NY 8/17/22

Comments: This is one of those "you get what you pay for" situations. While there are less expensive braids out there, this is definitely the best braid I've fished. I've used 832, JBraid Grand, PowerPro SSV2, and 131. 131 is definitely the quietest and best casting. We'll see how it lasts throughout the season, but So far, I'm sold.

From: Kirk: 8/15/22

Comments: The line casts good, and is quiet, and if you like losing baits this is the line for you. Lost baits on hook sets, and doing the snap trick to get a bait unhung, and this is on 4 different rigs. Breaks with little effort, not at all abrasion resistant. Complete waste of money. The folks at Sufix really need to reevaluate this line. Took this line off and went back to 832, a line which I have never had any issues with.

From: Rob: Omaha, NE 5/29/22

Comments: Smooth, stealthy, and strong! Would recommend this line

From: John: 5/13/22

Comments: If your a fan of Sufix 832, then you have just found your new line. Sufix 131 is hands down best braided line I have ever used!! Would recommend to anyone who cringes at the sound the 832 makes while reeling. It's a little pricey but well worth it in my opinion.

From: Aaron: NEWPORT, VT 4/28/22

Comments: Best braid management I've ever experienced on a baitcaster. Yes, it also performs superior to any other casting braid experience I've had, but who cares about casting distance if you're getting braid lashes. Very infrequent braid lashes, thus it's superior casting distance is warranted. It's a must have for any applications where you are casting. Yes, it's amazing for flipping, but it's not as much of a game changer as this braids casting ability on a baitcaster. I don't have issues with braid on spinning setups, so nothing to comment.

From: Dan: Illinois 4/24/22

Comments: This stuff is truly the "CATS MEOW" !!! In the past, with regards to Pitching/Flipping into some pretty rough territory, using nothing but straight "BRAIDED LINES" ( NO Fluorocarbon leaders ), especially in clear water and grassy environments and those Fish were in a negative or very spooky mood, I'm seriously convinced those previous Braided Lines would telegraph a sound to the Bass Lateral Line, making them almost impossible too catch-until this product came out !!! In that very same area's prior, I've gone right back through them using the Sufix 131 and BANG time and time again !!! I use the 30 lb. while Fishing just Grass and using 3/4 oz. weights and 40 lb. when Fishing the worst stuff possible, using 1 oz. weights !!! Enjoy the Outdoors, Billy.

Comments: Definitely casted longer and smoother than anything else I've used. Feels like a solid product. If you're on the fence about id recommend trying it.

Comments: Although expensive, this stuff (30lb) casts a country mile! I use the FG knot with holds perfect when using 15 or 17 pound mono or flouro. In my experience as long as the diameter of the leader line is larger than the diameter of the braid the FG knot works great. So, because the 131 G-core is so thin the FG knot is perfect for this setup. Because this line is so expensive, I use backing line so that I can get two spools from 150 Yds of the 131 G-Core. I expect to get 3 seasons out of it fishing once a week and every so often twice a week.

From: Unknown: Sacramento, CA 3/6/22

Comments: Really like this line. I run braid on most my rods with a fluoro leader. It's super quite threw the rod guides unlike a lot of braids. Love the fact that it sinks so can be used on baits other than top water. If your looking for a good braid I highly recommend this one!

From: Jesse M: West Monroe, LA 1/24/22

Comments: Save your money I never got the performance promised. Cheaper braid just as good or better available. I wanted to like it, but I was disappointed. It actually hindered casting vs making it better. Wish I had my money back.

From: Unknown: 12/7/21

Comments: I really like the new g-core line ,it casts better than previous version , it doesn't dig into the reel .

From: Morgan: Spanish Fort, AL 11/01/21

Comments: Great line. I use it for Seabass in the estuary. Casts a mile, holds knots very well, abrasion resistance is also good. At a very good price from this supplier and very promptly delivered.

From: Darren: Ireland 10/21/21

Comments: I recently spooled 30 lbs Sufix 131 on my medium and medium heavy baitcasting setups. While tying on mono and fluoro leaders I found that the knots were tying nicely. My findings during a fishing session was that this braid casts very far and accurate, is extremely smooth and very sensitive. It also has a nice feel when fighting a fish. All and all, this braid has some really nice qualities which makes it easy to control and to fish with.

From: Keith: South Africa 10/12/21

Comments: Down through the years I've tried a lot of braided lines, beginning I don't know how long ago with some early products that were made of Kevlar. You name it, I've tried it. To this point, my experience with Suffix 131 is limited to the 50 lb test variety, but I must say that so far, it is hands down the best braid I've ever used. At this juncture, I have it spooled up on two heavy duty baitcast rods, one that I use for frog fishing and the other for heavy blade baits. The frog rod in particular gets a real workout, as my favorite lake has a very heavy growth of lily pads this time of year. It ties beautiful knots, has excellent abrasion resistance, and casts like a dream. Tying the line onto various types of terminal tackle, it really does feel 'rounder', for lack of a better word.....when I set the hook, this stuff does not bury itself into the spool like a lot of other braided and fused superlines. Fishing in heavy lily pad cover, 50 lb Sufix 131 cuts nicely through the pads and with my +7' long heavy action St. Croix frog rod, I can hoist fish up and make them dance on the way  back to the boat! Just last week I a took a deep breath (the stuff is expensive!) and bought  spools of 20 lb and 10 lb test. I'll let everyone know when I had a chance to try them out.

From: Unknown 9/8/21

Comments: I bought 6lb to try compared to the regular 832 6lb, much thinner and apparently much weaker, Maybe i got a bad spool but this line has broken on me many times.

From: Unknown: Colorado 7/21/21

Comments: Best braid I have ever used... strong and smooth. You can go up in pound test and still be smaller in line diameter! I stripped off line this morning and replaced with 131.

From: Unknown: 7/9/21

Comments: New fav, smoother then 832, just a tough and the castability is hard to beat

From: Aaron: 6/13/21

Comments: This stuff is so smooth it's like fishing with fluorocarbon. As usual the suffix braid quality is top notch and i have had no issues with line fray or discoloration. this is the new 13 strand standard. worth every penny.

From: Patrick: Simpsonville, SC 5/28/21

Comments: Casts like a dream, sounds like a dream  just plain performs like a dream. DONT WAKE ME UP. love this stuff

From: Bob: Connecticut 5/16/21

Comments: I bought some 6lb to try, and I have to say It's pretty strong and stays pretty solid but also smooth and flexible and not stiff like power pro, doesn't fray as much as the 832. I love it. It's a but more money but it's worth it, you get what you pay for.

From: Unknown: Colorado 5/2/21

Comments: Best braid on the market by far. Smooth, quiet, manageable. Sensitive but tough. Great knot strength especially on braid to fluoro connection knots. Expensive but worth every penny.

From: Shawn: Troy, OH 4/20/21

Comments: Great braid. I fished with 832 for several years before switching to Berk X-9 a couple of years ago. I have some 40lb 131 on a pitching reel and it performed without issue down in Mississippi last week. Like nearly all braids, it's not nearly as thin per line size as the X-9 and it's not as quiet, but the fish didn't mind. Peace ~

From: Kyle: Northern Wisconsin 4/12/21

Comments: This line is super slick and smooth.  It cast better than other braids.

From: Ed: Bethlehem, PA 4/11/21

Comments: Sufix 832 has been my braid for years. But that changed with 131 G-Core. This new line is super smooth off the spool. It holds knots very well. Even blood knots to fluoro or mono leaders. It seems to be more resistant to cutting on rocks and is nicely abrasion resistant. Those are very important in AZ, with all the rocky structure. It's pricey but in this case you really do get what you pay for.
