Overview

Designed by ChatterBait originators Ronnie and Ron Davis, the Z-Man ChatterBait WillowVibe links a hardened, stainless steel willow leaf shaped blade with an aspirin-shaped jighead, for an intense, rapid-fire vibration that is ideal for targeting schooling fish. Its jighead sports lifelike 3D eyes to give bass a clear strike-point, while a super-sharp 2/0 black nickel hook provides smooth hook setting performance, and a wire keeper pins soft plastic trailers tightly in place.

The Z-Man ChatterBait WillowVibe produces a tighter action and higher frequency vibration and can be fished throughout the water column, from counting down to depth for slow, deep retrieves to waking just below the surface. Ideal for finesse applications typically calling for scrounger-style heads, small swimbaits, and underspins, the WillowVibe provides a deadly alternative that bass and other predatory fish have not seen before. Ideal to pair with your favorite finesse straight-tail or swimbait trailer, the Z-Man ChatterBait WillowVibe is designed to help you locate a limit in a hurry.

AmazingThis bladed head is amazing. Used this yesterday paired with the reaction innovations skinny dipper. Caught over 20 something bass. The head is designed great, hooks very sharp. A slow steady Retrieve gets that bait moving and the fish can’t resist

Seems promisingA lighter vibe on the retrieve and seems in the right bite will be a good choice. I didn't get a hit on it paired with a 3" Keitech but it looked and felt promising.

Comments: I love these jig heads. The vibration is subtle and different - bass love it. It's become one of my favorites and I even gave one to a friend as a consolation prize for outcatching him. Buying more today.

Comments: There is no good reason to not use this! It's probably my new favorite may to fish a chatterbait/scrounger. It has a nice tight hunting action but it has a nice subtle sound too. I love using these with any smaller swimbaits as well as a good few of the Zman Ned baits. It's a sleeper to fish but it most certainly catches fish. I haven't found any issues of the blade disconnecting from the head but if you're worried I'd suggest pinching the eye shut before using them.

Comments: What can I say about the willowvibe. It's been a slow bite but granted it's winter time. I pair it up with keitech minnow and its movements are crazy realistic! I have caught a few on it but come prespawn it is going to slay! Built tough and sharp hooks. Give it a try! I run it on a spin reel over a baitcaster. Nice and slow rolling with some flicks.

From: Kevin: Texas 12/11/22

Comments: These thing starts up pretty quick with a very subtle vibration. If you retrieve the 1/4 to fast it'll want to rise up to the surface. I haven't had any problems with the jig head separating from the blade like others, so I don't know what that's about.

From: Simon: Tennessee 12/6/22

Comments: The 1st one i tied on only got 3 casts b4 the jig head and swim bait flew through the air and I reeled in a blade .. but they come in a 2 pack so I tied on the 2nd one and went back to fishing. . .30 mins and several fish later I hang a good one that just pulls the hook out straight as a arrow .. .so knowing they catch big ones I ordered more and tied them on spinning gear this time .. Saturday morning the wife and I caught a bunch of schooling fish chasing bait 2 5lbers and a couple over 3 they preformed perfectly. . .. throw them on spinning gear and have the drag set right and hold on tight!!

From: Chad: Virginia 9/7/22

Comments: Total disappointment. On my 3rd cast, 1/2 way through my retrieve I began to feel little to no resistance. When I got the bait in, the jig head and 3" swimbait were gone. All I had was the blade tied on. I didn't get snagged on wood or hung up in grass, I was simply fishing open water in a pond. Had I been hung up the line would have snapped before the jig head.

Comments: Several years back. Zman made a micro chatter bait. I only have two left. So i was hesitant to use them. When I discovered the willow vibe I decided to give it a try as a replacementfor the micro chatterbait. . I'm pleased with it. I'm guessing it was developed as a walleye bait, but I use it for bass with small swimbats like the kitech 2.8 or the 3 inch spark shad. It's a fun way to catch numbers

From: CJ: Memphis, TN 5/14/22

Comments: Fantastic bait! I use it with Keitech 3.3 or 3.8 Swing Impact Fat Swimbaits and it is a Bass Catcher. The willow blade is a different vibration and the bass love it. I have been fishing with lessor weights, but these cast a mile and are great against breaking baitfish boils. The hooks are sharp and you can fish them all day. After winning a tournament on Lake Erie all my buddies wanted to buy this Willowvibe! I have all the weights and colors and plan to use them this year at Lake St. Clair for smallies.

Comments: The Willowvibe is sweet. It has a different feel to it when you are reeling it in. I crank it back slower to keep it under the surface. I have gotten it caught on more limbs and logs but I use it regularly now and I will be buying more.

From: James: Prince George, VA 3/21/22

Comments: I really like this bait. I've caught multiple Midwest species of fish on this bait. I like to pair it up with any natural colored craw style baits. It gives you a slightly different little kick than a typical chatter bait but starts up decently quick. My favorite way to use it was the smaller more finesse size that I threw on a spinning set up. It mimicked a little bait fish pretty well. I prefer using it in more open spaces or rocky bottom spots.

From: Jack: Kansas 3/1/22

Comments: Excellent action. Quality hook. Bomb casts with the 1/4 on spinning gear. Pair up with a StreakZ 3.75" or Slim SwimZ 3". Medium slow retrieve and bait will "hunt". I'd consider this the "Jackhammer" among finesse scrounger heads. Bonus....2 per pack!

From: Ryan: Unknown 1/27/22

Comments: Starts quick with a tight finesse chatter, you'll think that your rod has been set to vibrate. I love this jighead (3/8 oz) paired with a 3" Z-man Minnowz. I've caught several good fish using this combo with the largest being a 21" reservoir striper and have never had a problem with the hook. You can simply chuck and wind this combo but I prefer to vary my retrieve and even just kill it every now and again to trigger a bite.

Comments: Was very excited to get these. Back ordered for months. They finally arrived and I was thrilled with the action on my first two casts. But my gird retrieve felt strange. At some point during the cast or retrieve, the jig head separated from the blade. All that came back was the blade. Would be a heartbreaker if that happened with a fish on. Definitely too big a gap on the loop that holds the blade. The concept is great but I'm not going to risk losing a fish on a defective piece of tackle.
Update: I wrote a previous review on 12/31/21, and this is a follow up. I have to compliment Z-Man's customer service department. They quickly sent me a replacement willow vibe after I informed them mine broke within a few casts. I haven't had a chance to fish since getting the new ones. My original excitement and concerns remain. I think the gap in the lip attached to the blade is too wide and the blade can slip through it. For now I'm clamping them all down myself. thanks for the great customer service Z-Man!

From: Bryce: Oklahoma 12/31/21 : Updated 1/24/21

Comments: A more compact profile and needle point hook for more secure hook ups , also great quality and the big eye its a great detail to my confidence when fishing

From: Daniel: Laredo, TX 12/31/21

Comments: These are a cool little jig head, the 1/4oz size if reeled too fast, will easily come to the surface, but if you slow it down it works as intended. Provides another presentation when fishing schooling fish, or fish feeding on shad at the surface. Will be another cool tool in my arsenal!

From: Mike: Indiana 11/8/21

Comments: I might have gotten a bad batch but for some reason the lift on this bait is ridiculous. It almost fishes like a buzzbait and don't get me wrong when I say this it might work even better as a sub-surface topwater. The bites on this sometimes are ridiculous. I have tried swithcing up to lighter fluoro as light as 8lb on a spinning rod and still it rises right up to the surface. I really think I got a couple duds so I am going to give them another shot.

From: Cam: North Carolina 9/23/21

Comments: Yup, they work. If you are not getting the vibration you want, use lighter line. I used the fluke jrs and the fish give it two fins up.

From: Jason: Unknown 8/24/21

Comments: The willow vibe matched with a 4" shad shape worm is a killer. Sometimes all you need to do is show something different from other bladed jigs and this seems to work. I would reccomend it

From: Robert: New York 8/23/21

Comments: Works great. Fast, tight vibration. Should work great in clear water. Perfect for small Keitec style baits and Fluke Juniors. Really any 3 to 4 inch swim baits should be clear water magic.

From: Mike: Pea Ridge, Ar. 7/29/21

Comments: This is a killer river bait for Smallmouth and also great in the lakes for Largemouth.

From: Chance: Oregon 7/27/21

Comments: I like these for a nice vibrating jig on smaller areas of water . Paired with a small split tail and on second cast caught a 4lb large mouth. These will be I'm my Arsenal from now on.

From: Robert: Middle River, MD 5/26/21

Comments: Slap on the straight tail zman trout trick on these and the way it moves is crazy it vibrates but also moves side to side in  the water like an swaver. I highly reccomend these are awesome.

From: Unknown: 5/1/21

Comments:I bought them specifically for smallmouth. I haven't threw it much but when I have I can cast em a mile, vibration is tight even during slow retrieves.  I'm confident they will fill my live well during tournaments.

From: Frankie: Rotterdam, NY 4/27/21

Comments: Cool little jig has a nice subtle action and flash. will be great in highly pressure situations

From: Unknown: 4/24/21

Comments: Under certain situation when fishing a small swim bait these can make a huge difference on short strikes from finicky fish. That difference in the vibration is what I feel makes the difference.

From: Johnny: Yadkinville 4/3/21

Comments: Great action and easy hook sets. This lure is a spring must have!

From: Jeff 3/28/21

Comments: Great action and will be a game changer during the shad spawn!

From: Curt: Elk Grove, CA 3/15/21

Comments: Awesome willowblade bait. Slow rolling with your favorite zman minnow or yo yo it off the bottom. Bass can't resist it. Another great design from Zman.

From: Keith: Hockley, Texas 3/5/21

Comments: Fast tight action even at super slow speeds. Lightwire hook, heavy head, and definitely a fish catcher!

From: Keenan: Gilbert, AZ 3/1/21

Comments: Tight vibration even on slow retrieve. Really good when you want to down size and use finesse swimbaits to match the hatch.

From:
Unknown 2/27/21

Comments:
Great tight action. Good for cold water and pressured fish. So far I've sacked up a few on this one.

From: Jeff: Denton, TX 2/16/21

Comments: I love these willow vibes! They work so well in the small creek and rivers I couldn't believe is the action and hookups are just as good as a regular bladed lure definitely recommend!

From: Blake: Shelbyville 2/4/21

Comments: These are money! Perfect for the small rivers I fish. No problems hanging up on rocks and the blades don't get overwhelmed by the current. The action is a lot more subtle then the regular chatterbait. The smallies loved them thru late fall. I can't wait for the spring bite. I like to pair them up with some type of straight tailed goby bait. Tight lines!
